AkzoNobel’s Automotive & Specialty Coatings (ASC) business unit (BU) provides leading coatings solutions and services to customers around the world. Our business spans multiple market segments, including Aerospace, Automotive, Consumer Electronics, and Vehicle Refinishes.

Effective marketing is central to the success of the BU ASC. As such, the BU’s Marketing & Pricing excellence team provides high level input into the marketing strategy, processes and systems. Within this context, your mission in this role is to initiate and oversee Continuous Improvement (CI) projects for our pricing and marketing excellence strategy. It is essential that you are able to work independently and take ownership of assignments, lead multifunctional project teams, and provide clear and efficient progress reporting for the (Marketing) Management team.

The role and its responsibilities
This role is based at our large site at Sassenheim, the Netherlands, where you will be part of a diverse global team of 16 people with 9 different nationalities. Because this is a global role, it is essential that you are are open to different cultures, have strong communications skills, and always seek to build relationships and connect people.

Reporting to the Marketing & Pricing Excellence Manager, you identify and lead high impact projects through the concept of continuous improvement that contribute to the overall growth ambition and targets set by the BU. This requires you to:

  • Implement and consolidate best practices and processes;
  • Standardize procedures, processes, and documents across regions;
  • Deliver information and training about different techniques, methodologies and best practices;
  • Develop a common project language by defining the milestones, metrics and KPIs for success.

At all times you provide consistent project management guidance that is designed to achieve consistent project outcomes all over the BU. You also follow-up and report on the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities.

Further, you act as Business Process Lead for OneSAP Sales & Marketing, support projects impacting Marketing, Customer Service (order to cash process), and support the Go Digital Strategy.

Candidate profile
To apply for this position you must possess all the following attributes:

  • Graduate in Finance, Marketing or Business with at least 5-8 years of working experience in a marketing/business environment;
  • Knowledge of both commercial processes as well as IM requirements/limitations;
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma, preferably Green or Black Belt, familiar with MS Office (Excel), CRM systems, Marketing and ERP/Business Intelligence systems;
  • Experience of working with and leading multi-disciplinary programs and teams;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills including a high standard of written and spoken English;
  • Willing and able to travel approx. 25% of the time.
